End of September - 2018

September 30th~

Kids

Molly

Molly has been calling Maggie into room at night to fall asleep with her.  Maggie is more than happy to oblige.

And of course Molly is still in love with her pups.

Painting in her toy closet.

Sam
We watched Coco for movie night at church.  I love that Sam still likes to cuddle with me.

Andy's dirt bike.

One day while Ashley was over playing she did Molly's makeup to help turn Molly into a fairy.  Sam loved the idea and asked to be turned into a boy fairy.  He was beyond excited when Ashley was done.

Sam picked out the Red Power Range costume to be for Halloween.  Right when we got home he had to put on his Spider-Man outfit with the Ranger mask.

Sam has decided he loves lemons.  When I wouldn't let him eat both lemon halves that night we put one in a Ziploc bag and slept with it.  In the morning he took it to school for his treat and proudly showed it off to everyone.

Avimor Kid's Duathlon

Sept 29th~

Since we missed Run Wild this year, I thought I would sign the kids up for the Avimor Duathlon.  When I first told the kids Molly was not too sure and Sam got nervous.  The night before he tried riding his balance bike before throwing it to the ground and taking off running.  Then he would say, "i can't do it."  I explained to him we would be there to him transition and for this duathlon the run was first.

Heading to packet pick-up.

My many attempts to get a picture of Sam..

Grandma started the run with Sam, Daddy was at the bikes, and I was closer to the finish.  Sam started off scared and held onto Grandma during the run but Chris did a great job on getting Sam on his bike and off to the finish.  Sam does amazing on his balance bike and started cruising towards the finish.  However, before he crossed the line a group of adults went on the path to cheer on another kid and Sam had to serve towards the grass which caused him to crash his bike.  I held him while he cried awhile but could not talk him into getting up.  He finally cried, "I didn't win."  To that I told him, "look at the finish line, no one is there, if you hurry you will win."  Well that was enough to get him up and running across the finish line to claim his medal.  I am just happy I was able to get him to finish with a smile on his face.

Then while waiting for Molly's turn to race both kids headed to the Home Depot tent to make tool boxes.  This may have been their favorite part.

Sam making sure he didn't miss the start of Molly's race.

Molly had longer to run and bike and started off just like her mamma, slow and steady.  She did one loop through a trail and when I saw her again she was walking with Daddy saying her side hurt.

Then the first portion of her bike ride was up a hill and Chris and I were pretty convinced she was going to be miserable.  Chris ran with Molly and I waited for Molly at the bike drop off.  Low and behold, she came flying down the hill so excited and yelling to me, "I went so fast I didn't even need to pedal."

Then she dropped off her bike and ran the last hundred yards to the finish.  Even after already running and biking, she took off in a sprint to the finish line.

Kingston also did the race and was in the group after Molly's.  Even though Molly complained doing the race herself, she ran all over the course again to make sure we saw Kingston at every possible spot.  She really does make for a wonderful support crew/cheerleader.
