Swim Lessons

July 20-31st~

We signed Molly up for two weeks of swim lessons at the Meridian Public Pool.  Molly is a water baby and was very excited to take the lessons.  While we were waiting for her first lesson to start we ran into Molly's school friend, Payton, and her mom.  Payton's class was not completely full, so we talked about switching Molly so she would know someone in her class.

While we were still waiting there was a mom who was having a difficult time getting her son into the pool.  Silently, I was grateful that would not be my kid, since I knew how excited Molly was.  Well low and behold, that was my kid.  Molly had a boy teacher and become quite shy and did not want to get into the pool.  I had to do a lot of Mommy bribing and promised to get her into Payton's class if she just listened for today.  Luckily she finally got in, and did great.

The next day Molly and Payton kept hugging each other during class.  They are pretty cute together, but had to be separated for a few classes for not listening to the instructions the teacher was giving.

They also did a safety class that Daddy was able to take Molly too.  Chris said it was pretty intense, but Molly did great and held it together.  That was until she got out of the pool and saw Chris.  Then she ran to him with tears in her eyes.

They put all the kids in life jackets and then dropped them off the diving board.  Once all the kids where in the water they created a safety circle.  Molly was next to some bigger kids and kept getting splashed in the face with water.  Chris said it was very had not to want to go save her himself, but it was nice to see she could hold it together when it was important.

Then on the last day they all got to play in the kiddie area

Run Wild

July 25th~

Molly wanted to run Run Wild again this year so we signed her up.  I grabbed her packet after work the day before the race and when I showed her the shirt she said, "A new running shirt?! It's so cute" then gave it a big hug.

I ran with the Sloths that morning and had to do a sprint finish to the zoo to make it there in time for the race, but I did.  Molly was actually excited to see the mascots this year and had to point them out to me and Auntie Kristin.  She got a little shy right before the race started, but did great once we got going.  She held my hand and ran almost the whole quarter of a mile.  Towards the end she told me her legs where hurting, so I had us walk until we saw dad at the finish.

This was her running to Auntie Kristin to show her the Big Bunny.

We then walked around the zoo.  The cutest part was when Chris was sitting on a bench and Molly marched up to him and said "Dad, look behind you.  There is nothing there, I want the dinosaurs."  Sure enough it was a spot the dinosaurs had been in for the last two years.  She was quite mad they were not back, but Chris and I could not help but laugh at what came out of her mouth.  That is my girl in a nutshell.

Liam was able to join us this year for the fun.

2nd Annual Imnaha Camping Trip

July 17th-19th~

We headed back to the Imnaha for another camping trip with the Kennedys and Yankes.  Our campsite from last  year was already taken, but Jeff knew of another great spot.  It was not as open, but the walk down to the river was a lot closer and there was a perfect little barge area for the kids to play on.

Sam taking his nap.

Conor's harmonica was a huge hit.

What would camping be without a little finger nail painting

Our nights were rough…Sam woke up Molly the first night, and since she wasn’t fully awake went into hysteriscs when she couldn’t see me (but when Chris turned on the head lamp she complained it was too bright), which in turn made Sam cry harder, which always makes Molly cry harder.  It was about a half an hour of Chris and I with each kid before we could calm them down.  Sam did great the second night, and Molly woke up once to pee.  Luckily Charity had brought glow sticks and I kept one in the tent with me so Molly could have some light.  That did the trick and then she was up twice having a little mini rager with the glow sticks.

The nice thing was even with the difficult nights, our days were great.  The kids loved playing in the water and Molly did quite a bit of fishing. She even got pretty good at casting.

These two are definitely related.

This has been a favorite teething toy.

All the kids got along great.

Daddy took off for an hour trip to try his luck at the white fish.  The fishing was not that great, but they still had a good time.

Then there was huckleberry picking to be had!  It was not as abdunant as last year, but we still got enough to make us happy!

Tyson Turns 2!

July 15th~

We have been busy with birthday parties this week and what fun they have been!

Tyson's 2nd birthday party was on Wednesday night.  We did not get to stay too long, but were able to wish Tyson a happy birthday and tour the Fire Department!

Both kids fell fast asleep on the way to the party and Molly did not wake up too well.  It took her awhile to be okay with all the kids around, but once Daddy climbed on the firetruck with her all was great!

Boating in Cascade

July 11-13th~

This cabin trip we were able take out the pontoon boat on Lake Cascade and Molly was super excited.

The second we got on the boat Molly asked Daddy if she could help drive the boat.  Chris said yes and put Molly on his lap.  However, that was not good enough, so she asked if she could drive it by herself.  To my surprise Daddy agreed.  It did help that the boat did not go over 6 mph and Chris kept us steering straight.

Sam did great on the boat and even got into fishing after he finished his nap.

Molly also loved fishing and kept reeling and casting, reeling and casting.

Molly came to stand next to me once I started fishing, but soon laid her barbie fishing pool on my lap and walked to the back of the boat.  When I asked why she wasn't fishing anymore she just said "because".  Well two seconds later I realized it was because she had a fish on her line!  She must have gotten a little scared when she felt the tug and I could not convince her to come back and reel in it. Mommy got to fight the fish, and since Molly got such a big one it fought pretty good.

Right when I got Molly's fish in, I realized there was also a fish on my pole!  Nothing like getting two fish simultaneously.

It was then time to pack up and enjoy some time at the cabin.
