Cascade Again

It has been so nice having the cabin to go to during my maternity leave so I can get a change of scerny.  This time though, Lynnea and family also came up.  The girl's love Molly and do a great job in keeping her awake for me!

Chris did some more ice fishing, though he did not have the same amount of luck as he did the previous weekend.  We all met up with him so he could show the nieces what ice fising was all about.

Happy 2012!

This year for New Years, Chris and I packed up Molly and headed to the cabin with just our family.  It was the first time since Molly had been born that we did not have anyone staying with us or coming to visit.  It was also nice for me to get away from the house and not feel the need to keep it clean or do anything productive, other than caring for Molly.

Chris went ice fishing in the mornings and I was able to get some reading done during Molly's naps.

Chris' favorite time to fish is at first light

While Chris is gone, Drake always goes on high alert and will randomly bark and growl out the windows, even when nothing is out there.  During one of his "rounds" he let out the deepest meanest growls I have ever heard from him and I got up to investigate.  To my surprise a fox was standing right outside the window.  The fox ran away when he saw me, but made another round around the house before disappearing for good, leaving me the opportunity to snap a quick photo.

Molly also turned 1 month on the 1st and surprised us with a roll from her belly to her back.  I was so surprised to see her do it, I had to have her repeat it twice more.  However, I am pretty sure she was able to do it purely because of my placement of her, since she has yet to repeat it again.  She had her head held up pretty good and when she laid it down, she just kind of rolled over!  Now I think I will have to wait a few more months to see it again.  Molly is getting bigger by the day and now smiles in response.  She has also started to make some little cooing sounds.  She is very happy in the mornings and has started to get a little fussy stage in the evenings, though those still don't last very long.  She is a great eater and sleeper.  We have gotten a few 6 hour spans between the night time feedings, but it has not become our "norm" yet.  She also puts herself to bed great.  For nighttime and naps once her eyes start to get heavy or she gets just a touch fussy, I swaddle her up and put her in her bassinet.  From there she will quietly lay there for a few minutes before dozing off.

Then when we got back from the cabin, Chris gave me a night off to meet some friends for dinner.  Molly got her first bottle around 3 weeks and just drinks them down, so it was nice to not have to worry about getting home in time for her feedings.

And More Ice Fishing

Chris set up an ice fishing trip with his work crew up in Cascade.  Luckily for me, my friend, Annie, found cheap flights from Salt Lake a few days before the weekend, and came to visit Molly and me the same weekend Chris was gone.  The ice fishing was great for Chris and he had a blast at the cabin with all his friends.

Annie and I also had a blast just hanging out at the house and catching up.  She brought her daughter, Finley, who has grown so much since I last saw her.  She was also on the move, but loved to look at baby Molly.

Here is a picture of Chris with all his fish.  He brought home 27 perch from the entire weekend.

Christmas

I absolutely love Christmas and was very excited to celebrate with our early Christmas present!  However, this year with the mild weather, and Chris and I focusing all of our attention on Molly's arrival, it pretty  much took Christmas day to arrive before it really felt like Christmas.

This was the first time Chris' family had all been together for Christmas in something like 8 years.  We woke up early on Christmas morning and opened presents with them.  We were so excited for Molly's first Christmas, but she pretty much slept through the whole thing!

After presents Chris, Molly, and I headed over to Lynn and Kerry's to open the remaining presents with my family.  Then Jody and Tim joined us for our traditional Christmas morning breakfast.

Molly also had her own pair of Christmas pajama's that we wear all Christmas day!

Though we did have to do a few outfit changes with Molly since there just too many cute Christmas outfits for her!

Christmas Eve

Friday Uncle Tim flew in to also meet Molly.  His birthday is the 30th, but we had a little gathering that night to celebrate.

Here are some pre-Christmas pictures

Then for Christmas Eve we headed to the candlelight service at our church.  This was Molly's first time at church and she did great.

Papa and the Las Vegas Maaco Bowl

This year we had a very crazy Christmas.  My dad and Chris' mom both flew into town on the 21st.
This was the first time my dad was able to meet Molly.

The next day was the Las Vegas Maaco Bowl.  We were sad the Broncos did not make a BCS bowl game this year, but still had to show our support.

Missed Posts

I have finally been going through all my pictures and realized I missed blogging about some of them.

This is another cheer event for all my nieces.  Their subdivision hosted a BSU "tailgate" at their clubhouse, and the girl's cheer club did a little cheer and dance.

Then for our birth preparation class, the guys had the option to wear a simulator pregnancy belly.  Chris, being the wonderful husband he is, offered to try it out.  He wore it for about 20 minutes while we watched a video and it was nice to see him have a little difficulty with heat management and breathing!

I also had him roll over on the floor since his favorite thing to make fun of me for during my pregnancy was the large production it took for me to roll over in bed.

Smile

Here are some pictures of Molly's smile.  She normally smiles if she is gassy or sleeping :)

3 weeks

I cannot believe how fast time has been flying by.  My little girl is already 3 weeks and I see changes in her everyday.  She is starting to focus more with her eyes and has enjoyed time on her playmate.  She smiles quite a bit, but it does not seem it is response to anything specific.  Even so I love to see it!

Molly Marie Part 2

Chris and I took more photos around 3 weeks.  Molly was a little harder to position since she does not sleep as soundly as she use to, but I am still happy with what we got.
