Ice Fishing Extravaganz- 2011

January 2011~

Chris went back to MN for his annual ice fishing trip. This year they went to Lee's property instead of the lake near St.Cloud. It was record cold temperatures and the low one of the days was -34 degrees. The fishing was terrible, but the guys still had a good time.

Running through the Clouds

Last Saturday I meet with the Sloths to do a 13 mile run from Fort Boise to the top of Table Rock then a few miles of the Robie course and back to Fort Boise.  I had to leave my house early to meet the group because there was fog everywhere!  However, once we climbed high enough we were able to get out of the fog and have a wonderful Saturday morning run...

At the top of Table Rock.  You could not see Boise at all with all the fog.

New Year's Eve

To ring in 2011, Chris and I went to Anna and Jonathan's for a New Year's Murder Mystery party.  Chris was the chauffeur and I was the late Rick Rochester's rich daughter who just stole Chris from her twin sister.  Amber and Zeb also went to the party. Amber was the maid, and Zeb the butler.  Mid-way through, Amber was killed and in the end it was discovered Chris was the murderer of both Amber and the late Rick.  The game was much more detailed than I had imagined and I of course guessed the wrong person!
The hosts:
Anna (sister or Rick) and Jonathan (best friend of Rick)

Chris and I

Emily (ex-wife) and Zac (nephew of Rick)

Zeb and Amber

The whole group
And of course there was some Rock Band at the end of the night.
Chris was a little tired by this point!

Cabin in the snow

New Year's Eve Chris, Kerry, my dad, and I drove up to Cascade for the day to check on the cabin.  Everyone was suppose to go the weekend after Christmas but with the snow storm on its way they decided it was better to stay in town.  For the most part the drive was okay and the scenery was beautiful.

Drake loved all the snow, no matter how cold he got

On the way out we saw this fox just hanging out on a hill.

Christmas 2010

Christmas morning Chris and I opened our presents at our house before heading to Lynn and Kerry's.  Once there, the girl's were already through their stockings and on their way to the presents.

Our tree.  We had to keep ornaments on the lower half to a limit, since both cats liked to climb the tree and take them off.

You will start to notice one of our Christmas traditions is to wear our Christmas pajamas Christmas morning.  However, when Ashley woke up she refused to come downstairs in anything but her Christmas dress!

The best gift the three girls got this year was one from Uncle Chris.  Every year Chris' work does a white elephant gift exchange at their Christmas party.  This year Chris got a...

very large stuff fish.  We thought it was kind of cute and something they could take up to the cabin, but never expected it to be as big of a hit as it was.  They were running it up and down the hall making him swim, then they put him on the hardwood floor so they could sit on him and scoot around, it was crazy.
The other white elephant gift we got was given to my dad...a beer can and bullet wind chime.  We seriously should have waited to buy all our gifts until after Chris' party.

After presents we had our favorite breakfast of fried oysters and then watched Despicable Me.  I had not seen the movie before but absolutely loved it.  I actually watched it twice that day.  Chris feel alseep for the first veiwing, so I made him watch it once we got back home.  Then came more eating and a game of Taboo.  Taboo was a little to difficult for my parents and we laughed more than we played, however later we discovered Catch Phrase was a better option.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve morning I woke up early to meet my running group for a run.  I have started to run in a new group that has a few girls closer to my pace.  It has been so good to have runners there who push me and keep me motivated.  Once I got home and showered, I headed to my parents to help my mom with some cooking before we headed off to church.  After church we had dinner which included lots of yummy appetizers, crab legs, and of course dessert!
