Chris and I decided to do one of the tours to Chichen Itza, one of the Seven Wonders of the New World.
Before we actually got to the ruins, we were taken to a Mayan sink hole.
Chris and I both agreed we could have gone home right then and been completely happy, though in the end I am glad we didn't. Anyway the sink hole was large natural pool of water that was 90 feet below ground level and the water was another 180 feet deep. We were able to swim around in the pool and even jumped off the top ledge shown on the left of the picture below. It was by far one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.
Chichen Itza was unbelievable. Even standing in front of the temples I felt as though I was looking at a picture, it was too large to grasp. Our tour guide's knowledge of the Mayans and temples were never ending. I was even an example sacrifice.
The Mayans had total reason behind every detail they put in their buildings. Their knowledge and understanding of the world completely blows my mind.

The following day Chris, Tim and I went snorkeling on the second largest coral reef in the world. Tim got the excursion for Chris and I as a wedding gift (so thank you again!!!)
On the way we passed a little lagoon that had crocodiles in it. When we stopped the van and opened the door the crocodile came right up. I guess they are use to getting feed by the cars. Anyway the pictures below is of a little one that came up to say hi.
For the snorkeling they took us out on a boat, then our guide got into the water with us and had us follow him around all over so he could point different things out.
We saw sea turtles (my favorite), sting rays, barracudas, lobsters, and hundreds of very colorful tropical fish.
