It's Offical....We're Moving Back!!!

I was accepted as a student radiation therapist at MSTI a couple months back, and have been patiently waiting for an acceptance letter from the Radiation Therapy Department at Weber State to make sure I got into the program. That letter came yesterday, with less than 2 months until classes start.
So it is official, I will be moving back to Boise August 15th!!! I cannot believe how fast the time here in Kearney has flown by, and even more I can’t believe how soon it will be until I move back.
I figure since Chris and I know that we are definitely heading back to Boise, and with a decrease in the job market for me, now will be a good time to go back to school. However, I still have some reservations. The main one is I will be leaving ahead of Chris. We are hoping that he will be able to come back to Boise the beginning of October, but not knowing for sure is nerve wracking. Also with today’s economy I feel very guilty leaving a paying, secure job that I know supports both Chris and I. We have been saving for quite awhile and have a nest egg that will be support us with even zero income for a few months, but I also don’t want to drain that just because. However my parents have offered us their house in Boise to live in (as long as have renters in our house anyway) for favors and cheap rent. So hopefully as long as Chris and I can get a few work hours we should be okay. I am also a little nervous about the job market when I graduate next year, but I guess I will just have to wait and see if things turn around. I want to get a job right away in therapy, but we are not really willing to move again to find that, so hopefully something in the valley will turn up by then.

Go to Work with your Spouse Day

Today I went with Chris to Harlan Reservoir to help with some of his data collection. I can definitely see the appeal of his job and had fun actually seeing what he has been doing all year long. We rode around in the Game and Parks boat and had five stations where we stopped and I was in charge of collecting water quality data ever meter into the water, and Chris collected Shad fish and zooplankton.
However, I don't think I would find the same appeal when he gets back to lab, and has to dissect all the little fish to study their stomach contents.

Pat and Charity

Pat and Charity drove from Utah to Minnesota over the weekend for Pat's sister graduation. Luckily for Chris and I, Kearney sits right on I-80 and is almost at the half way mark for them.
They headed out Wednesday and got to Kearney around 7pm. It was my last work night for the week, but I was able to take call until 10:30 and those ER docs were actually nice to me and did not call me in once!! When I got off work at 6 the next morning everyone was already moving around and we were able to go to breakfast before they hit the road again.
They then came back through Sunday night. This time I did not have to work or take call. The weather was beautiful and we had a cookout that night.
Both Chris and I were sad that we couldn't spend more time with our friends, but it was so nice to have them come through town so they could at least see where we have been living the last year and a half.
