Anna's Baby Shower

Joy, Wren, Kelly, Jane, and I threw Anna's baby shower at my house a few weeks back.  Thanks to all of Joy's detailed planning, the party went without a hitch.  I spent Friday night making sure the house was clean and trying to find out where all the guests were going to sit. Joy came over later that night to get a head start on her dishes and to assemble the games and Anna's onesies cloth line.
Saturday morning I got up to run with my group. We had a wonderful run up to Bonneville point and at the end one of the guys had mimosas and cinnamon rolls to celebrate a birthday in our group.  It was a great time, but got me home a little later than I had originally planned.

I was in charge of the chocolate covered fruit and could not make those until the morning of. So I raced home to get showered and cooking! Anna came over at 12:30 to hang out and help a bit. Next came Kelly with the cutest cupcakes her and Jane made, and then Joy and Wren to help! Luckily we had everything set up right on time.

It was a huge turnout and success. My front room seemed a little too small to hold the 20+ guests that showed, but no one seemed to mind too much. Kingston got a ton of gifts....

167 days...

until baby Sullivan is here!!!
I am still behind on some posts but figured I better get this one out sooner than later.
Chris and I decided to start and try for a family in October, but did not see a positive test until April 5th.  I had a feeling something was different at the beginning of April but did not want to get my hopes up.  Then when my temperature stayed higher than it ever had before, I became really excited.  Chris also got excited and we decided to take a dollar store test I already had that night.  Well Chris beat me to the results and with a sober face told me it was negative.  I could not believe it, trying to or not my hopes had been high.  I looked at the test to see for myself and saw the faintest line possible.  To that I told Chris any line was positive.  Even after googling images of positive tests he was not convinced since he could hardly see it himself.  The next morning the test showed the same results so I picked up a super sensitive brand name test on my way home from work and there was no misreading the results!

All of this was right before Chris' big road trip which turned out kind of nice.  I didn't have to worry about him or the dog when I wasn't feeling the best, but it was also tough to have him gone.  For the most part I feel like the 1st trimester could have been a lot worse.  I had mild nausea all day, but was able to keep that in check with snacks and making sure I did let myself get hungry.  What I had not expected was how tired I would feel.  That was the worst.

The first question I get asked from everyone is if I am still running, and the answer is yes.  I was actually 6 weeks pregnant for Robie!  With permission from my doctor, I have kept up with my long run on Saturdays with the Sloths.  Now I just have to go slower and walk more often.  I hope to keep that up as long as I feel good running, though my bladder may put an end to it sooner than later!
