End of June

June 30th~

I feel like I don't post about the nieces all that much anymore.  Nana was here and able to take their picture on the last day of school.

I got a great video of Sam standing and surfing on this rocker!

Every night when we get Molly ready for bed, her first question is "What jammies are Sam wearing?" We then have to try and find ones that "match."  We get pretty creative; "his has cars and yours have frogs so they both move"....  With this new obsession, I finally decided to buy them the same pair to make my life a little easier...
Molly, also being my princess who only wears dresses to school, will randomly have a day when she wants to wear her pajamas instead.  This day, Sam had to match as well.

Swim Lessons

June 20-30th~

I signed up both kids for a two week swim lesson with Cathy's School for Lil' Fish.  Ms. Cindy was their teacher and AMAZING.  Sam was in a mommy and me class first and we learned so much. Sam can now swim underwater for short distances.  He hasn't learned how to lift his head up to get air, so you have to be right beside him, but still!  He doesn't sink or choke on water, so I say that is success with an 18 month old!

This is why he wont lift his head up when he is swimming, he is too busy trying to keep his eyes covered!  Though every time I would bring him out of the water he would smile and clap like crazy.
Molly's class was right afters Sam's and she did amazingly.  Molly can now float on her back and swim short distances by herself.  She didn't like getting her face wet at first but quickly got over that when it meant she could swim underwater.  She LOVED her lessons and at night we would hear her in her bed saying "monkey, airplane, ROCKET" after she learned how to do the back breast stroke! She is definitely not ready to be in the deep end, but it is nice to know she has a basic level of understanding on how to get herself to safety if she needs it and to be more comfortable in the water.

This was a great way to get the kids excited to be underwater.
I caught Molly checking herself out in the mirror before swim lessons.

MacKenzie's Party at Gymnastics

June 25th~

Molly's classmate had her superhero birthday at Danik Gymnastics.  Lately, Molly has been a touch obsessed with Paw Patrol and demands to be called Skye.  When I saw a Skye costume on Amazon, I couldn't pass it up.

Molly ran all around with her friends and I hardly saw her during the playtime.  Sam also ran around the entire time, and I stayed busy chasing him.  Once he realized the ground had some give, he turned on his turbo jets and flew.  It was so cute to see him speed running, I think I took more video than pictures!

Matt & Carly's Wedding and Getting Molly

June 18th~

Matt and Carly got married in Sun Valley.  We drove up the day of the wedding, stayed the night, and then took off for Idaho Falls to pick up Molly.

The wedding was a blast.  Matt is a Fish and Game employee who used to work with Chris, so Chris knew quite a lot of the guests.  Randomly, Carly used to live with Kristie (my co-worker) and nannies for ZhohnAnn (my college roommate), so I had fun catching up with ZhohnAnn and partying with Kristie!

Molly refused to get out of the hotel pool until Daddy & I showed up to see her tricks.  Luckily for us, Auntie Kristin agreed to watch Sam so we did have to torture him with a long car ride.

Zoo Montana

June 16th~

The Montana trip included Zoo Montana with some of the nieces' other cousins.  This zoo has a huge play area that I think was Molly's favorite.

The nieces' and their cousins
Molly & Macy are only a week apart but the girls said they are completely different.  Macy is quite and reserved and Molly is non stop moving and talking.

Molly in Montana

June 12-19th~

Molly had been talking about this trip for months.  She left with Nana, Papa, and the cousins after Yellowstone to spend her week in Montana.

Old Faithful on the way!

Part of the week was without her cousins and she still had too much fun to talk to mom and dad most nights.  Impressively, she must not have worn out Nana and Papa too much, since they are asking to have her for at least two weeks next year!

Every time I talked to Papa before this trip, Molly made she I told him he needed to get Chester ready for her to ride.  I don't think she forgave him for not letting her ride Chester last year.  This year Chester was ready, and Molly did get to ride him, she just didn't let anyone take her picture on him!
