Run Wild

July 26th~

Our friend Kingston has ran Run Wild at Zoo Boise and it always looked liked fun.  Once I heard about it this year I had to sign Molly up.  Unfortunately Kingston was spending a fun weekend with Grandma and Grandpa and did not make it this time.  Our friend Miles did though and we had a great time.  Hopefully next year Kingston will be back for all the action.

Molly was so excited at the start until everyone started running.  That scared her a bit and I had to carry her for the first half of the 1/4 mile.  I was finally able to put her down and by that point she was laughing so hard trying to beat Miles she could barely run.

I asked if she wanted Dad to run with her but she informed Chris that he did not have running shoes but he could still come to the zoo to walk.

And of course the best part of post race is the food...

Then it was time to enjoy the zoo.  It was actually cool in the morning and not a lot of people stayed after the race so it was a perfect morning!

The ant-eater had a baby that she was carrying around on her back.

Baby # 2

July 20th~

That's right, in a short 20 weeks we will be welcoming our second child.  We have always known we wanted two kids and were beyond excited to find out we were expecting again, but it is hard to imagine us as a family of four.

Everyone keeps asking me how this pregnancy compares to Molly's but I really think that is impossible to answer.  I was exhausted beyond belief during the entire first trimester and the start of the second but we were also trying to sell our rental and I still had to be a mom to Molly when I got home from work.  Chris tried to let me nap when I could, but when I was pregnant with Molly I think I took naps everyday after work where this time around that was just not feasible.

I was also nauseous the entire day with this baby but it would be exceptionally bad at night.  When I tried to sleep I could not have my body twisted in anyway without feeling like I was carsick.  I finally learned it was easier for me to eat a big lunch and try to have a smaller dinner and that helped some.

I started feeling the baby give tiny nudges around 18 weeks.  I was hoping for earlier, but learned in my 20 week ultrasound I have an anterior placenta instead of a posterior, like I did with Molly, so that probably explains why I did not feel baby sooner.

I have been able to keep with running a bit longer than I did with Molly.  I am still running in the mornings about 2.5 miles.  My pace has slowed down and I add in walks but it is nice to be able to get out and be active.  I also got a bike trainer and have really enjoyed biking throughout this pregnancy as well.

The big difference between pregnancies is how fast things are going this time.  I had looked forward to enjoying this pregnancy to its fullest knowing it was going to be my last, but work and life and Molly have just kept things flying by.  Before I know it this baby will be here!

And speaking of baby being here my official due date is Dec 7th (Molly's was the 10th!)  Since they know I have to have a C-section they were talking of scheduling me the 1st (Molly's bday) but I think they will let me postpone at least a few days.  However Molly arrived early, so who knows if this baby will decide to come early as well.

Molly has also been beyond excited about baby.  Originally she said it was a baby boy but now she is pretty adamant about it being a baby girl (and no we did not find out what it is).  Either way Molly is going to be an amazing big sister.  She likes to show me how she is going to hold the baby and pick her up if she falls.  Molly also said bye bye to her binkies  a few weeks back so now she keeps asking to buy the baby new ones.  We didn't even tell Molly about the baby for awhile but apparently she picked up on us talking about it because when I finally told daycare they informed me she had been telling them for the last few weeks!

Here is my 10 week US
This is my favorite picture (and yes this is for Robie again at 7 weeks) and then 11 weeks

18 and 19 weeks (Anna is 1 week behind me!)

20 week ultrasound...baby looked GREAT!

21 weeks and me at 22 weeks with Molly.  I definitely started showing a lot sooner this time around and have put on 13 lbs. at 20 wks where with Molly I had put on 9 lbs., but I love my belly and as long as it means this baby is growing like he/she should then I couldn't be happier!

Imnaha

July 18-20th~

We headed up through Hell's Canyon to the Imnaha.  While the drive was very scenic it also had a few too many twist and turns for me, so I had my eyes closed a good portion.  I did open them however, when Chris spotted a baby cub in a field off the road.

Our friends from Oregon, Jeff and Janelle, set up a fake campsite Thursday to guraeentee we got the perfect site.

The camp was open with lots of trees and a 50 foot walk down to the river.  The entire way up Molly kept asking when we were going camping so she could fish and swim.  Once we walked down to the water she was ready to jump in.  That child really has no fear of any type of water so I was happy there was a little trail to seperate her and the water.

The kids also had a blast just playing around the campsite...

This is currently Molly's favorite dress from Auntie Lynnea and Uncle Kerry when they were in Mexico...I am still not sure how she talked me into packing it for the camping trip but she sure does look cute in it.

Forever the princess Molly even found some help with her flip-flops.

The second day we headed on a 2 mile hike up to Blue Hole.  It was very warm on the hike, but once we got there we were able to claim a sand bar all to ourselves and let the kids swim and fish.  Chris only hiked in Molly's fishing pole but she was a little too excited about swimming to care about the fishing.  Chris decided to fish the pole himself and within minutes caught a white fish.

(and that is a sucker in Chris' mouth)

Right before we got back to the truck Chris found a 4 leaf clover

Our last morning we went down to the river by camp to let Molly try out fishing again.  She already has the terms down and kept saying "cast my pole please"

The entire weekend was a blast and we were completely impressed with how well Molly did.  On the way out we even hit the mother load of huckleberries and spent a good hour picking more than we have the last few years combined.  That even includes Molly occasionally sticking her hand in my bowl so she could eat them by the handful!

Here are also some pictures of Chris' successful fishing....
