For as much as Sam loves to smile, it seems the camera man confused him a bit. Even so, you can't deny he is a cutie!

We were super happy with Molly's pictures this year. How did she get so big?!

Fit One
September 26th~
The Sloths took advantage of National Running Day and signed up cheap for the Fit One half marathon. All of these races coincide with my marathon training, which has made it a little more enjoyable. I again didn't have a goal time and really just enjoyed the race. There were a few more hills than I expected, and my stomach was a bit upset, but I was still happy with the overall result.
Afterwards Molly played at the park for a bit and then we did what we all do best....BREAKFAST!

Andrea and Kristin ran the 10K.

Molly was waving like crazy when she saw me.
I love my group

2015 Elk Hunt
September 11-20th~
Chris and Jake headed out on their annual elk hunt hoping to fill the freezer for the second year in a row. Heading into a new area, their hopes were high. The hunt was great, with multiple shot opportunities, although Jake was the only one to fling an arrow. On the first morning, Chris got busted by a cow while drawing on a huge bull at just 35 yards. Later that morning, Jake shot a big 6-point but the shot was bad and the bull was not recovered. The shot occurred right here with the bull standing in the opening.
The next few days were spent searching for the bull, but he never turned up. Chris passed on multiple cow opportunities the first few days and by the end of the week when any elk would do, the opportunities didn’t happen. It was a spectacular hunt as usual but in the end no elk were brought home this year….at least the scenery didn’t disappoint!

Chris spotted a face in the rocks and had to take a picture

Great Grandma Jean
September 9th-15th~
Great Grandma Jean came out for a visit. We didn't plan anything major while she was here, but as always it was a great visit. Sam was all smiles and Molly loved having Grandma Jean read her The Best Little Monkeys In the Whole World.
Obvioulsy not the best quality picture, but it still the shows the kiddos with their Great Grandma. Hopefully we can get some better pictures during the next trip out.

Park Playdate
September 8th~
Most weeks I am finally getting scheduled to only work four days a week. This day I had a dentist appointment in the morning, but picked the kids up early from daycare. The weather was beautiful so I decided to take them to the park. While we were pulling out of school's parking lot Molly asked if she could play in the water. Since it was after Labor Day I assumed the water would be shut off, but I told Molly I would take her swimsuit from school with us just in case. It is a good thing I did, because the water was in full swing.

Molly loves this park, and Sam and I enjoyed watching her play. I even got a few selfies with the kids.

Then it was off to the swings. This is Molly's favorite from the park. Sam also decided he really likes swings, but apparently I was too busy getting videos of him laughing I forgot to take a still picture!

9 months
September 3rd~
The stats where:
- Weight: 19.5 lbs...........................45%
- Height: 27 3/8 cm .......................15%
- Head Circumference: 44.5 cm.....35%
This month brought a few more firsts for us.
Sam is still a great eater, but we have now also given him some more "people food." He has had salmon, pancakes, cooked carrots, and pickled beats. And he loved them all.
We also had another ear infection that was then followed up by two teeth in the same day! About 3 days into the antibiotics Sam woke up with his bottom left tooth poking through. He had a rough day with it and while yelling later that afternoon I noticed his right bottom one was also making an appearance!
We FINALLY mastered the front to back roll, but he still does not do it too often. However, when he does, you can tell it is because he wants to and knows what he is doing.
No crawling yet, but when he is on his tummy he will get one knee under him and then the next, but that usually ends in a face plant. He can lift his upper half off the ground, but then doesn't have the strength for his lower. However, you can tell his finally wanting to move and either follow us, or get to other toys.

At his appointment they had me fill out a test gauging his fine and gross motor skills. His fine motor skills where off the charts with his dexterity and problem solving skills, but his gross motor where below average. This is difficult to test at 9 months so our doctor was not too concerned, as some kids like to move more, while others tend to be more observers. Honestly, I am okay this boy hasn't started to move on me yet, because I know it will be trouble when I have two kids going wherever they want!
Sam also had his first plane ride this month when he headed to MN and did wonderful.
Other than Sam getting a little more vocal about his dislike of us walking away from him or trying to sit him down, Sam is still a super happy baby. We truly cannot get enough of him!

He has also started to play little games with us. We have a video from this picture below where Sam would touch my face and I would make a surprised sound. It sent him into fits of giggles.
