Friends Dinner

January 31st~

Dinner was at Anna's and we all had a great time, though we forgot to take a 'formal' picture of the kids, but this one does justice to what it is normally like. 

End of January

January 31st~ 

Molly told me "you know Mom, it is January and that means there is supposed to be snow.  Remember last year?".  I told her that I did, but she could not comprehend how last year was such an anomaly for us.  Still, we got some more snow and the kids were able to build a snowman with Daddy.

We finally got the fish tank set up and the kids have loved it.  Molly was sad none of the fish wanted to go into the castle she bought them, so when I saw one in the castle, I made sure to take a picture for her.

 Sam and Daddy have way too much fun create all kinds of new tracks.

Molly

Molly loves Maggie.  By these pictures I would say the two probably weigh the same!

 Molly has been writing a lot of books lately.  She staples computer paper together then dictates her story to me.  Once I am done writing, she then draws the pictures.  One night she told me she wanted to write a non fiction story and we decided a planet book would be good, since she knows so much about planets.  We didn't get the book finished that night, but the next morning, Molly woke up early to finish her book, and even had her planet shirt on!

 

Molly asked me to set up her tent in her room.  When I went back later, this is what I found.  Molly took off the tent cover and then started hanging all her favorite clothes on the frame. 

Tubing Hill

January 28th~

For Christmas we told the nieces we would take them to the tubing hill at Bogus Basin.  Our winter this year has been pretty mild, so we decided to go as soon as we were all available.  It was a gorgeous day and we were all complaining we were too warm!

Everyone had to be in their own tubes but we were allowed to hold onto each others tubes.  We all had a blast and our hour and half went by in a blink of an eye.

  

 

  

  

  

  

  

  

Luckily they had a magic carpet for the ride back to the top.  Those tubes were heavy.

Cabin with Nick and Kelly

January 19-21st~

Nick had been wanting to go ice fishing with Chris for some time and we decided to make a weekend out of it at the cabin.  

  

Tyson and Bryce loved the slide as much as Sam.

Molly and Tyson got a hold of their Mommy's phones and went on a picture taking spree...some of them were not too bad....

  

  

The big boys had a good day of fishing with enough action to keep everyone happy.

  

We also took everyone swimming, but had too much fun at the pool to take any pictures.

When we got home I tried to take a nap on the couch next to Chris.  Chris attempted a selfie before enlisting Molly to get a photo of him with two of his "girls."  

Into the Woods/Star Wars

January 16th~

Ella' drama class put on a play that Molly and I were able attend.   The play combined the story line of Into the Woods mixed with Star Wars mixed.  For a fifth grade performance, it turned out really cute and Molly was completely amazed.  Intermission was an hour into the show and when the lights turned on, Molly explained, "it's not over is it?!"  When I told her it was just a break, she said, "oh good, because I love this."  Ella poked her head out during intermission and when Molly saw her, she told Ella "good acting."  

Molly also made me take a picture of all the kids at the end of the show.  

On our way home, Molly asked what my favorite part was.  I told her, and then asked about her favorite part.  She exclaimed, "all of it, that was the best show ever."

The next morning she was begging me and Daddy to let her go see the show again that night.  Chris was heading out of town, and I knew Sam would not sit still that long.  However, after some more begging from Molly, I asked if Morgan could take her the play.  Molly was beyond excited.  We found out later, the show was a bit different from the first night, and Ella was not in it, but that did not stop Molly from loving it and telling me how great that one was too when she got home :)

Chris & Martin Fishing

January 15th~

Chris and Martin went to Cascade and fished for perch. Fishing was slow but they caught a few good ones!

Jody and Kristin's Birthday Weekend

January 13th & 14th~

We had a fun weekend celebrating Kristin and Jody's birthday.  Saturday was happy hour at Barbacoa and Sunday was the Vikings Game at our house. 

Annual Sloth Party

January 11th~

We hosted another wonderful Sloth Party at our house.  We timed it so Jill would be back in town and had a great turnout.

Chris' New Year Fun

December 30th - January 1st ~

Chris enjoyed his time at the cabin.  Once he arrived on Saturday, he immediately headed for the lake with Tim and Kristin. 

Sunday morning Chris & Tim woke up early for more ice-fishing.  The fishing was not great but they did catch a good sized fish.
