Boise State Vs Wyoming

November 16th~

BSU had a special on football tickets and the whole family jumped on board.  Unfortunately our babysitter fell through and Chris had to stay home with Molly.  This was Kristin and all the nieces' first Boise State game and we all had fun.  Ella and Morgan kept asking Kristin and I rules about the game, which to our credit, I feel we did a pretty job with answering most of them.  The game started a 8pm and we did not know how the girls would do, but we actually had to drag them out of the stadium at 11:15 when we were up 42 to 7 and only had half of the last quarter left.

I sat next to Ella most of the night and my favorite quotes where:

Me "they trained him to pick up the tee off the field"
Then next time they had a little kid go after the tee
Ella "Why is that kid going out there..he is SLOW"

Ella "Why does that clock say 19 minutes."
Me "that is how long half time is"
Ella "SWEET, you mean they are going to entertain us for 19 minutes?!"

Molly's First Slumber Party

November 14th~

The nieces and I have been trying to find a good time for a sleep over at our house for quite some time now.  When I found out we all had Friday off from work and school I decided what better timing!  The girls were very excited to stay the night and Kerry informed me Ashley had her bag packed two days prior! 

They came over before dinner and we all ate pizza.  The girls then played with Molly until it was her bedtime.  Once Molly was in bed Uncle Chris and I watched The Croods with the girls, then it was time for them to go to sleep.  They all brought sleeping bags and slept in our bonus room.

 

The next day the twins headed to garage to play foosball while Ashley and Molly played in the backyard with Drake.   

 

After Molly's nap it was time for a trip to the zoo with Auntie Kristin.  It was definitely a little bit on the chiller side but the girls still did great and it was nice to be at the zoo when not many other people were.

 

 

  

That night Lynn and Kerry took Molly for a few hours and Chris and I were able to go out to dinner and get some errands done!

Zeitgeist

November 2nd~
The Zeitgeist course is one of the Sloths' favorite runs, especially when the trails start to get too wet and we are looking for hills elsewhere.

The weather on race day started off incredibley cold, but the forecast said it was suppose to get into the 50s by early afternoon (which is warm when running) so I tried not to overdress.  My toes where frozen for the first two miles, but shortly after the sun came out and I warmed up quickly.  My legs were pretty heavy most of the race and I felt like I was barely moving.  It was also incredibly windy which did not help. However, the scenry was pretty with all the fall colors and towards the end of the race the road was covered with leaves and the wind was swirling them all over...it was a pretty neat running experience.

Even though I did not feel the best, the miles still seemed to go by quickly so I was a least lucky that way.  This was my second time running Zeitgeist as a race, and while I did not come in as soon as I expected, I still ended up with a PR! 2 hrs 09 min 55 seconds.

 

I was 46th out of 108 for my age division;

191st out of 536 women;

and 441st out of 902 total runners.

And then the best part...food at the end!

Chris took another glass blowing class and made us a decorative plate for our dining room wall.  I love the dark swirl and it looks perfect hanging up. 

Elk Hunt 2013

September 2013~

Jake came out from MN for his second year of elk hunting and Andy joined the fun for the first few days of the hunt. They got camp set up and hunted hard for 3 days but none of them shot anything

By mid-week it had begun to snow......

.....and it snowed.......

.......and it snowed....

......and it snowed, until the guys had no choice but to leave their upper camp and retreat to the safety of  the wall tent at the bottom of the mountain.

After 2.5 days of constant snow, the storm broke and they hiked back in to retrieve their camp

This is what was left of their tents, they were buried in 2 feet of snow!

The week was over and they just packed up their camp and headed back to the truck

It was dry back down in the valley after they packed out camp! No elk were taken on the hunt, but they had a week they will never forget.

Halloween

October 31st~
I love Halloween and was super excited for this year.  Originally I was suppose to have the day off of work, but that morning Eric called asking if I could help out in Meridian that afternoon.  Luckily they did not need me until after lunch, so Molly and I went to see Daddy at work for their annual chili cook off. 
Once I got home from work we got dinner started and had plans to go over to Lynn and Kerry's.  About 20 minutes before we were scheduled to leave, Molly got her pinkie stuck in one of our accordion style cupboard doors.  I could not figure out which way to bend the doors to get her finger out, luckily Chris was there and saved the day.  However, Molly was so upset she could not stop crying and almost cried herself to sleep in arms.  I put ice on her finger and that seemed to help.  Every time she moved her hand she would say "ice, ice." 
We still got her dressed and over to Lynn's but she really wanted to still be held and cuddled.  We hit a few houses before we headed back home.

 

She kept saying "kittie" and pointing when she saw this but once we got up close she was no longer sure she wanted to see it.  

Dad had been with us the whole time, but once we got home I made him go inside our house so we could treat and trick it. Molly had a lot of fun with that since she knew who was answering the door! 

 

Boo at the Zoo

October 26^th~

Molly and I met up with lots of friends at the Zoo for this year’s Boo at the Zoo.  It turned out to be an incredibly warm day and Molly started to overheat in her monkey costume halfway through but we still had lots of fun.

It is nice to have twin nieces...that makes twice the costumes and we liked both so much this year we decided why not have her be a frog and a monkey?

Fall Harvest Party

October 25^th~

We took Molly to our church’s Fall Harvest Party this year.  She was a little too small for some of the games, but she had fun decorating a little pumpkin with Daddy and her cousins and LOVED the fishing game.

Then it was time for the Kiddie Parade (that I got to be a part of) and then off to Halloween Alley.  The different Sunday school classes decorate cardboard boxes and hand out candy through little slits in the boxes.  It did not take Molly long to figure out what was going on!
