Ella and Morgan turn 5

Ella and Morgan's 5th birthday was last Thursday (the 22nd). That morning Chris and I met Lynn and the family for a birthday breakfast before the girls went to school. This is also the day I started their cake for their Princess Party on Saturday. Now let me tell you how I came to make the girls' birthday cake. It all started with a comment to Lynnea about how I wanted to find a cake decorating class to take. From this she asked if I wanted to help make the girls' birthday cake. I said sure, that I didn't think it would be too hard. From here I was informed I was making the castle cake and she was making the princess cake. About two days later I finally saw a picture of the cake I suppose to make....it did not look fun. But to be fair, I ended up at a party for Jonathan on Thursday night, and one for Kelly on Friday, so Lynn and I never had time to get together anyway. So instead, I spent all day Thursday on the stupid thing and a good part of Friday morning.
Saturday they had their party at the club house for their subdivision. Only little girls were invited, though they did allow Chris to go b/c he is family. We had pizza, presents, and even a real Princess.

Barber to Boise

October 17th was my third time running the Barber to Boise 10k.

The weather could not have been more perfect. We started out at Barber Park, but they changed the course this year to have us run on the greenbelt and then end in Bronco Stadium. Overall the race was really good. Even better was I felt great the entire time. I knew I was close to a PR, but it was so nice to finally not feel like I was dying during a race, I really didn't care to push myself too hard. Well, I did not get a PR but came in close.  I missed it by 10.375 seconds!. A part of me is kind of sad that I didn't push just a little bit harder to have finished with a PR, but it was worth it to end feeling great. I was able to run around on the field with the girls and they just loved running back and forth into the orange end zone.

My official time was 52 minutes 45.868 seconds.
