One of Kerry's younger brothers also got married last weekend in Billings and Ella and Morgan got the opportunity to be flower girls again.

Mystic Lake
On the 23rd Chris and I loaded up our car and headed to Montana. The drive from Kearney takes way to long, but we made it in time for a little relaxation before dinner.
On Friday, Sonja, Kristin, and I went on a hike outside of Absarokee to hike to Mystic Lake. Kristin had never hiked before and was quite eager to try this trail. She has been kicking butt at the gym lately with a trainer and figured she could handle our hike. And I do have to say she did great. It is a 3 mile hike into the lake and has some pretty good steep areas. I was always walking at a comfortable pace and she kept right along. Neither of us could keep up with Soni, but after years of being friends I have learned to just accept that fact.
It started to rain a little before we got to the top, but once the sun came out, it was beautiful.

Kristin said she had a blast on the hike, and I look forward to taking her on more when we get back together, either in Idaho or Montana.
On our way up...

MRI Certified
So I realized I did not post that last week I did receive my official letter from the ARRT, and I passed the MRI boards. I actually did do better than my CT boards, but x-ray still stays at the top of the list!

Wichita
This past Friday Chris and I headed to Wichita, KS to visit Tanya and her family.
We had not seen them since Tanya sang at our wedding, and since then they added a little girl to their family. I knew I would probably never live this close to them again, so we took advantage of one last free weekend before I move back to Idaho to go and visit. I had also signed up to take the MRI boards in Wichita. I figured this way I would make sure I got both in before the move.
Unfortunately with Chris getting to the busy point in the field season and working on his thesis, we were only able to stay one night.
We both had such a great time. Tanya taught us a fun new game called Settlers of Catan. I will admit I was not sure about the game at first but after one round, Chris and I were hooked and bought the game the following day. Her kids are so cute and her little boy was well behaved, though a little uncertain of Chris.
Saturday I woke up early to get a little more studying done and then took the MRI boards. I actually felt much better taking those boards then any of my priors, but I also studied a lot more. I think I was just so terrified of not passing. As always some of the pathology questions got me, but they gave a preliminary score at the end and according to that I passed! I don't know if I will ever actively look for an MRI job, but I could not pass up the opportunity to get certified as I have now been an MRI tech for the last year and a half.
After the test we went back to Tanya's for lunch and one more game before we headed back to Nebraska.

Minnesota
This past week Chris and I made a trip to Rochester, MN for Jake and Kelli's wedding.
Chris was busy most of time helping with all the wedding details, though we were still able to get good family time in.
We had the rehearsal dinner Friday night, and the wedding on Saturday. The wedding was wonderful and we had a great time hanging out with Chris' High School friends and dancing. Sunday we then had a family get together at Chris' mom's house for his Grandma's birthday. I do feel blessed that we have been able to make the trip up to MN as often as we have, giving me a chance to develop more of a relationship with his family.
Then on Monday, Chris and his uncle went fishing and Jody and I went to pick fresh strawberries. In Maryland, as a kid we use to pick blueberries. It was just as fun as an adult, and the berries are absolutely delicious.
On Tuesday we headed back to Nebraska, and got into town early enough to go and see the new Transformer movie. It was just as amazing as the first, and our theatre here offers free popcorn on Mondays and Tuesday if you bring your own bowl, so that makes it even better.
Then Wednesday was Chris' birthday. I got up early to make him waffles for breakfast. We both had a lot to catch up on from being gone, but were able to hang out a bit during the day, then grilled steaks for dinner, had a double layered chocolate cake for dessert, went to a local sports bar for a drink and some keno, then hung out with the neighbors for daiquiri's and fire works. So over all it was a very good week.

Chris had also taken me to the graveyard to see his dad. While it was difficult I was very honored to go and visit him. That night we watched some home movies when Chris was younger and his dad was healthy. It was great to get to hear him talk and laugh, and see how much he loved his family. I will always regret not being able to meet him, but am so thankful to him for raising such a wonderful son. While watching the videos, Chris really did not want to share the couch with me, but as you can tell, I really didn't care ;)
